About Connect IT
Who Are We? / Past Years
IT is increasingly regarded as the major source of competitive advantage in the business environment. With that responsibility comes the challenges of management, capitalization and the monetization of IT tools and methods. IT encroaches on every facet of the human condition, surrounds individuals, communities and societies while acting as an enabler.
Existing stigmas, increased security threats, shifting populations, and increased awareness and avenues for opinion has challenged what life will look like, both as student and professional. Solutions are now only solved through the development of sound architecture. This requires integrative approaches to, holistic understanding of, and forward looking assessments of the current environment to adequately respond and act.
By partnering with the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management (ITM) at Ryerson University, the Connect IT conference is the only student-run conference in Canada that explores the various interrelated dimensions of IT for the ultimate purpose of encouraging tomorrow’s business leaders to develop strategies for the management of technology and innovation.
Manifesto
We are committed to providing an intimate forum for open conversation and debate.
We strive to fuel critical thought by questioning norms and ultimately proving that which is wrong.
We believe that something unique is dictated by shifting paradigms and ultimately being proven wrong.
Critical questions are posed to thought and business leaders from our community so that graduates are better prepared and excited about their futures.
Vision
To be Canada’s most highly regarded, student-run IT management conference.
Mission
To provide Canadian students with unparalleled knowledge and appreciations of opportunities and challenges currently facing society and information technology that fosters advocacy of change and adaptability in one’s personal and professional life.
