Dimitry’s interest in business and IT was the driving force in choosing the ITM program, which was a catalyst in gaining knowledge in diverse subjects. He graduates April 2009.
Dimitry has completed 3 of his last 5 co-op work terms at RBC Capital Markets and co-led a final year thesis project team that conducted an in-depth industry analysis of the Canadian broadcasting and interactive media industries for TFO, a Franco-Ontarian broadcaster. Dimitry is also a winner of Ryerson University’s CaseIT Competition and will be representing Ryerson at Simon Frasier’s International CaseIT Competition.
Dimitry’s passion lies in various outdoor activities with canoeing tripping and snowboarding being his current favourites. He’s participated in the 2008 Ride to Conquer Cancer raising over $2600 and has begun fundraising for the 2009 ride in June with a $4000 goal in mind. In July, Dimitry will be embarking on a month-long canoe expedition in the North West Territories.

Jaime is currently in his fourth year of Information Technology Management at the Ted Rogers School of Management pursuing a B. Comm with Co-op Distinction. Jaime brings passion to marketing/communications and relationship management. Jaime fills his leisure time with cooking, rock climbing and motorcycling. He is an avid reader of classical literature, geo-politics, and works on the constructs of power.
Connect IT brings incredible value to Jaime’s life by bridging the gap between experience and direction. He is committed to his community and a proud citizen of Toronto.
Director of Finance & Logistics: Hackim Farrell

Mr. Farrell is a recent Graduate from Ryerson University with a degree in Information Technology Management (ITM) with majors in Telecommunications and Networking and a minor in Law. Mr. Farrell has always been an active student within the Ryerson community being student association president in 2005 – 2006 and Ryerson Ambassador in 2006 at the
Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference.
Upon graduation and receiving many generous offers from various employers. Mr. Farrell now holds an IT Analyst position at
Message Labs. In this role he works closely with SMB’s to improve their Web and email security ensuring that its fully operational.
Mr. Farrell has only started his journey within the IT security industry and is currently pursuing to obtain a Project Management position, while he works on obtaining his PMP designation.
Director of Finance & Logistics: Dimitry Sapon
Dimitry’s interest in business and IT was the driving force in switching to the ITM program after completing one year in Computer Science at Ryerson. The courses in ITM were a catalyst in gaining knowledge in diverse subjects with Dimitry finding particular interest in the areas of Finance and Economics. Dimitry is currently completing his 4th co-op work term at RBC Capital Markets where he is participating in several projects. The tasks range from maintenance and support of an existing trading system to business analysis for upcoming business initiatives. Interest in these fields has led Dimitry to do outside research with plans for further education via the Canadian Securities Course and Certified Financial Analyst designations. Dimitry’s other work-related initiative is Garage Sale Addict, a web-startup planned and developed by himself to support the garage sales community.
Outside of the professional environment, Dimitry enjoys learning about diverse topics ranging from philosophy to social sciences. His passion lies in expanding his hobbies and over the last two years Dimitry has greatly enjoyed canoeing tripping and snowboarding as his favourite outdoor activities. On June 20th-22nd, he’s aiming for the top by joining the 200km Princess Margaret Ride for Breast Cancer, requiring dedication in fundraising and training.
Dimitry joined Connect IT this year to give back to the Ryerson and the ITM program that has helped him gain a tremendous amount of knowledge and interest and propel his career forward. This conference gave Dimitry the opportunity to expand his involvement within the school and assist his fellow board members in the execution of a great event for the students.
Director of Marketing & Communications: Michael Kowalczuk
Michael is a 2006 graduate from Sheridan College where he graduated with a Systems Analyst Diploma. Before coming to Ryerson, he had worked at various organizations including GSK, and ToromontCAT. He brings an exemplary amount of technical skill and business knowledge. He is currently completing his last year at the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management.
His dedication and commitment over the only two years that he has been here has led him to various positions all over the ITM community. He goes out and beyond his way to make sure that the community is becoming Canada’s top IT business school. As Vice President of Advancement for the Information Technology Management Student Association, he is well involved in the ITM community and a strong motivating body for his peers. His passion for case studies, led to a highly successful 2nd annual ITM case competition which he co-chaired this year. He strives to give back to the community what he has earned. His commendable public speaking skills and ambitions contribute to everything he partakes including his role as the Director of ITM for the Ryerson Commerce Society. He brings it upon himself to make sure he is involved with his peers, student groups and the faculty. He is proud to represent and be a part of Connect IT 2008.

Director of Marketing & Communications: Abraham Qureshi

Abraham Qureshi is currently in his final year at Ryerson University, completing his degree in Information Technology Management (ITM) with a major in Enterprise Systems and Organization and a minor in Human Resources Management. Throughout his university career, Abraham has been very active within the Ryerson community. He currently serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the ITM Students Association (ITMSA).
Abraham has made a number of major contributions to the newly named Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management. He has organized successful academic events such as the annual ITMSA Professional Networking Event, the Ryerson ITMSA CaseIT Competition and the ConnectIT conference. He has also helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars in subsidies that give students the opportunity to attend various conferences throughout the year, hence enriching their experience in the ITM program.
Abraham has a love for aviation and plans to finish his commercial pilot’s license in the very near future. Abraham aspires to secure a career within the aviation industry which will allow him to apply the invaluable skills and knowledge to an area which he enjoys.
Logistics Team Lead: Valbon Shabani
In September of 2003, Valbon commenced his studies in the Information Technology Management program at Ryerson University. During his education, Valbon served a number of roles on both social and academic committees including Chief Advisor for the Information Technology Student Association, organizing member for the annual CaseIT competition, ambassador for The Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference, and as a representative on the ITM learning Edge Notebook RFP committee.
As a young and aspiring individual with a strong business minor complementing his studies, Valbon founded and successfully managed a catering company for 3 years before selling the business upon graduation in 2007. He proceeded to establish his career at IBM Canada’s Head Quarters in business development. Valbon continues to work closely with organizations that have had an impact in shaping his life, by volunteering his time with the Ontario Track and Field Association as an official, and as a member of a Multicultural Community Association, as well as the Ryerson community.

Mark is a recent graduate of the Information Technology Management program at Ryerson University. Throughout his four years at Ryerson University Mark held many positions on the Information Technology Management Student Association, most recently as President. He has always been dedicated to the ITM students by trying to ensure their University experience is as memorable as possible. This includes helping organize the first annual ITMSA Case IT competition, the first ITMSA Networking Event, and being a part of the Learning Edge Laptop Committee.
Currently Mark is working at IBM holding a position of Territory Account Manager for the Industrial Manufacturing sector of the GTA. He uses the combination of Information Technology and Business Communication to consult companies through new IT initiatives. He also holds an external advisor position on the ITMSA where he consults the executive team and offers his industry experience.
Logistics Team Lead: Moshin Master
As a graduate of the Ted Rogers School of ITM, Mohsin now works as an IT Auditor at George Weston Limited. He contributes to various initiatives throughout the business including leading systems audit engagements and business process improvement projects.
Previously at Madison MacArthur Inc, Mohsin was the Associate Manager, Information Systems, responsible for managing all Information assets including the corporate network, IS architecture, corporate website and Intranet as well as the enterprise workflow application and associated database.
Most recently, Mohsin successfully lead his project team in the ITM capstone course (ITM700/800) which was awarded the Barbara Kelsey Gold Medal Award, in producing the highest quality strategic and project reports for its client company.
Mohsin is currently pursuing his CISA designation and, prior to commencing his MBA studies, he plans to continue to develop his knowledge and understanding of Accounting and Finance through continued education and experience.
